To the Ends of the Earth, Psalm 67

Psalm 67 is a prayer beseeching God to inspire a fresh wind of revival to the ends of the earth. Our little church prays daily for revival to break out here in our valley. Would that not be a most marvelous miracle? I ask everyone reading these words to consider adding a plea for revival to your prayers. Here’s my musical plea for revival:

Philippians 2:10-11 promises:   “…at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

God repeats this vow in Romans 14:11.  “for it is written, ‘As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,  and every tongue shall give praise to God.’”

Actually, the apostle Paul was not the first to speak God’s pledge.  Isaiah tells us:  “By myself I have sworn;  from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return:  ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’”  (Isaiah 45:23)

How I long to see that glorious day!  What a privilege it will be to witness the moment when every human heart and mind wakes up to the stunning reality that God is sovereign over the earth and the heavens.  This will surely occur when the Almighty Creator of the universe sits down upon His throne and begins His eternal reign on the earth.

That’s why I composed the piece “To the Ends of the Earth.”  The words of my piece are derived from Psalm 67, and I believe that Psalm is inviting God to do just that, to “let Your Kingdom come, and Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
